Standard Sound Project

Led by singer and songwriter Reid Currie, creating emotionally driven music built around strong melodies, honest lyrics and understated production. Signed to Echo Bass Records, the band focuses on capturing moments of vulnerability and reflection through simple but powerful songwriting.

Reid is joined by Ryan Every on guitars, Leigh Robinson on bass, Andy Whitehead on keys and Ben Gibbs on drums, with each member bringing their own character and influences into the sound. Together, they shape a warm and direct style that blends indie, alternative and pop, while keeping the songwriting and emotion at the centre.

Reid previously fronted The Institutes as lead singer and co songwriter, and brings that experience into Standard Sound Project with a more focused and personal approach. The band have built their own creative space and studio, giving them the freedom to experiment, work independently and release music on their own terms.

Recent releases have helped the band build a growing listener base on Spotify, with tracks such as Demon Mind and Forever Now showing their ability to write songs that feel both personal and relatable. Their music often explores themes around mental health, relationships, self doubt and resilience.

The band are currently working towards the release of a debut EP, followed by their first full album planned for early next year, marking the next stage in their development as an honest and emotionally grounded band under Echo Bass Records.
