The track has already received early support from John Kennedy, who played it twice in the same week on Radio X “X-Posure” and selected it as one of his “Hot Ones”.

SHINES

Shines are a band from Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, formed in 2023 and driven by momentum rather than mythology. The band consists of Richie Dutton on vocals and songwriting, Ethan Taylor on guitar, Chris Day on drums and Danny Thomas on bass. They write all their songs from scratch in the room, led by melody and instinct, and remain closely involved at every stage of the process, from recording through to artwork and visuals. With no fixed formula and no interest in overworking ideas, their approach is direct, disciplined and rooted in feel. Media have described them as new indie kids on the block, highlighting the strength of their songwriting partnership and clarity of direction.

Shines have picked up regular national and specialist radio support, including BBC Introducing, Radio X and Amazing Radio, with repeat plays for early singles such as Home and Stunt Double. Live, they are known for physical, social shows that focus on connection with the room, where the songs open up and feel more complete on stage. The band signed their record deal after momentum was already underway and are now releasing new music as part of a forward-looking campaign, including recent singles Same Streets, Different Ghosts and A Certain Place.
