Marseille – “Out of the Blue”

Emerging from Derbyshire’s vibrant grassroots scene, Marseille deliver something both nostalgic and electrifying with their new single “Out of the Blue.” It’s widescreen, melodic and full of intent.

Hot off the heels of 'Fever', and amid their biggest UK tour to date, Marseille return with 'Out of The Blue' - arguably their most mature and emotionally complex single yet. With recent support from BBC 6 Music plus regular rotation on Radio X, the band are currently conquering 300-capacity venues across the country. Working once again with producer Michael Smith (Wolf Alice, Delights), 'Out of the Blue' channels raw emotion into an anthemic release.

Sitting at just 20 years old on average, Will Brown (vocals), Joe Labram (lead guitar), Lennon Hall (rhythm guitar), Will Sabey (bass), and Tom Spray (drums) are a band clearly driven to succeed. Currently commanding 300-capacity venues across their UK tour, the five-piece's raw ambition and musical maturity shine through every performance, building a rapidly growing fanbase who pack out shows night after night.

Out of the Blue' explores the frustration of loving someone who's ultimately holding you back - a universal theme delivered with raw honesty by frontman Will Brown. His vocal performance captures genuine anguish while soaring guitar work builds the emotional intensity, taking listeners through a cathartic journey from love through grief to anger.

Frontman and songwriter, Will Brown, had this to say about the song: “I had the melody and chords for ‘Out of the Blue’ for quite a while. I just hadn’t figured out the direction the song needed to head. I tend to write my best work when I have strong emotions running through my veins, and this song is no different”

Out of the Blue will be released on the 21st of November 2025 via Echo Bass Records. The band’s UK tour consists of:

7th November – The Lexington - London

8th November – Rough Trade - Nottingham

14th November – Headrow House - Leeds

ABOUT MARSEILLE

Marseille are a young five-piece indie rock band from Derbyshire. The current line up is Will Brown (vocals), Joe Labram (lead guitar), Lennon Hall (rhythm guitar), Will Sabey (bass) and Tom Spray (drums). At an average age of around 20, they have already built notable momentum in the UK and abroad.

Formed in 2021, Marseille draw on influences ranging from the Madchester and Britpop eras through shoegaze, psychedelic textures and classic guitar-driven indie. Their earlier work, including singles and EPs such as Forget It All, Monkey in the Middle, She Can Fly and History, has earned praise from tastemakers including BBC 6 Music (Steve Lamacq), Radio X, and US stations like KEXP and Sirius XM.

Their live credentials are strong. They have sold out venues in the 150 to 250 capacity range, featured at festivals including Y Not and the Isle of Wight, and are now preparing for their biggest UK headline tour to date, playing nine cities in November in 300 capacity venues. Fever arrives at a moment when Marseille’s blend of youthful energy, evocative songwriting and fiercely committed performance is converging, positioning 2025 as potentially their breakthrough year.
